Friday, the 14th we visited Wat Trimitr - has a 5-ton gold Buddha. It was originally hidden under plaster to keep it safe from the enemy.
Let me just say that because it is in the 80's doesn't make it cooler. It is SO humid and feels like 100!!! Next we saw Wat Po with the 150 foot reclining buddha and mother of pearl design on the bottom of the feet.

I bought 20 baht worth of coins to make wishes down the exit hallway. Needless to say, some of my wishes didn't come true. It has rained every afternoon or night - and I don't mean light showers - I'm talking monsoon (probably because it is still monsoon season). We were supposed to take a canal tour but had to postpone because of all the rain and the river being at high tide.
Saw the White Marble Temple but did not go inside. Very impressive.
There are pictures of the royal family all over the city and traffic is almost as bad as China.
After the rain I ventured up the street to the Victory Monument and by this time all the street vendors were setting up. They sell everything you can imagine and food vendors galore. I have not tried any of the street food yet.
More to come.
